Quality Control
Our commitment to ISO 9001:2000 ensures we operate effective quality systems throughout our business.
We have developed interferometry techniques to enable us to measure the flatness of a matched pair of reflecting surfaces in an air-spaced etalon cavity up to λ/300 (at 633nm).
The attached file shows a DUV air-spaced etalon measured over a 20mm diameter cavity after coating. View Etalon Image.
Our expertise with highly specified Fabry-Perot etalons is also beneficial for standard laser optics. We routinely measure surface flatness of laser optics before and after coating. This way, we are sure that parts meet customer specifications. The attached file shows a dichroic separator measured after coating. View H Sep Image.
We have a database of interferometric measurements, which allows us to predict the surface flatness after coating on different substrate material types at operational wavelengths. Every completed job is shipped from SLS Optics with a spectral curve enclosed. We measure a witness piece from each coating batch in our Perkin Elmer Lambda 900 spectrometer and the data is stored on file for future reference should it be required. Download Curve PDF (34k).
If surface flatness, reflected and transmitted wavefront or particular spectral measurements are important to you, please discuss your requirements with our experienced sales staff, who will be happy to provide you with any assistance and information, which you may request.
